It’s laundry day, and you’re ready to get your wash on! But before you head out to the local laundromat you’ll want to make sure you have everything you need. You’ll need more than just a pile of dirty clothes and a can-do attitude to get the job done. Here we discuss what to bring to the laundromat to help you avoid any sudsy situations during your next trip to the laundromat.
Laundry Bags
For lugging laundry to and from home, you’ll need bags. We recommend mesh bags for breathability, but any large bag will do if you don’t want prying eyes catching a glimpse of your dirty clothing. Before you start throwing clothes into your bag willy-nilly, it’s a good idea to sort your clothes beforehand and keep them separate by using two washing bags.
Laundry Products
You won’t get far washing your clothes without washing powder. Some of our Liquid self-service laundromats have single-use powder packs for sale, but why run the risk of that not being available? The same goes for any extras such as fabric softener or dryer sheets – Bruce what are these?.
Mesh Washing Bags
You can prevent washing machines from swallowing socks and small items by using mesh washing bags. They are also great for protecting delicate underwear in the wash and avoiding stretched straps and damaged hooks. Mesh washing bags make a great addition to one’s laundromat arsenal.
Loyalty Card
You no longer need to go sifting through pockets and checking under couch cushions for spare change before hitting the laundromat. Liquid Laundromats have introduced a loyalty programme for every $100 you accumulate; you will receive a $5 bonus. Forget the coins but be sure to keep your wash card on hand when visiting the laundromat. Payment – Eftpos, Credit or Debit Card.
Hand Sanitiser
Depending on how long you’ve left it, touching our own dirty laundry might warrant a thorough hand washing. Touching surfaces where others’ dirty laundry has sat will definitely be reason enough to bring some hand sanitiser. While all facilities are kept clean and tidy, you can never be too cautious, especially in these covid times.
Reading Material
Each laundry cycle will take anywhere from a half-hour to an hour to complete. That means you’ll have time to kill. We all have phones that can provide endless distractions, but why not use this quiet time to catch up on some reading instead. A good book is the best accompaniment on a trip to the laundromat.
